SOFT GOOD STUDIO - ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT
Role Overview:
All of Soft Good Studio’s bespoke pieces begin with a conversation. As Soft Good’s administrative assistant, you will be the initial contact and representation of the studio as clients consider working with us.
The administrative assistant works closely with Emilie and plays a crucial role in helping the studio run smoothly. This includes daily managing of our email inbox, organizing and shipping orders, and serving as the in-person liaison with our vendors in San Francisco. The ideal candidate is exceptionally organized, detail-oriented, and possesses excellent written communication skills.
This role begins as an in-office position at our studio in Emeryville, CA. Eventually, some duties may be performed remotely. Due to the logistical requirements of this position, a car is required. For trips to SF a clipper card is provided.
Note: This is an administrative position — not a studio assistant and/or design-related job. If you are interested in the day-to-day logistics of running a small business and are very adept at running a busy inbox, this is the role for you.
Key Responsibilities:
Client Relations: Daily management of all inbound inquiry, open orders, and client questions.
Inventory and Order Management: Balance as many as 70 open projects using tracking sheets, plus accurately package and ship orders.
Logistical Support & Errands: Deliver packages and convey information to/from vendors in SF.
Qualifications:
Experience: Prior customer service experience, preferably in retail. Extensive written communication skills a plus.
Detail-Oriented: Maintain an accurate perspective of 50-70 unique and independent projects simultaneously in production.
Communication: Uses understanding of projects to communicate clearly, accurately, and effectively with customers via email.
Willingness to Learn: A background in jewelry is not required. We will provide a basic education specific to the role.
Problem-Solving: Strong ability to handle inquiries and resolve issues in a warm, professional manner.
Compensation:
$30-35/hour depending on experience
Hours vary based on seasonal flow. Approx. 5-15 hours/week, opportunity for more.
