SOFT GOOD STUDIO - ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT
Role Overview:
The studio admin helps with email inquiries, order fulfillment, and regular errands to and from vendors in San Francisco, as well as deliveries to the post office.
This role will begin 100% in-office at our studio in Berkeley, CA. Eventually, there will be opportunity for a small percentage of the duties to be performed remotely, but this is an in-person job. Due to the logistical requirements of this position, a car is required. For trips to SF, Soft Good Studio will provide a Clipper card.
The ideal candidate is exceptionally organized, possesses excellent communication skills, and has a good eye for detail. Bonus if you delight/are proactive in creating new systems.
Note: this is an administrative position — not a studio assistant and/or design-related job. If you are interested in this because you want to learn how to make jewelry, this is not the right role for you. However, if you are interested in the day-to-day logistics of running a small business, you may find this work very satisfying.
Key Responsibilities:
Customer Support: Respond to customer inquiries via email and social media platforms, ensuring prompt and professional communication.
Order Fulfillment: Input order data on tracking sheets, make shipping labels, and package orders.
Logistical Support & Errands: Deliver and pick up pieces from vendors in SF, and deliver packages to the post office.
Qualifications:
Experience: Prior customer service experience, preferably in retail, is a plus.
Openness to Learn: A background in jewelry is not required, but a desire to learn attentively and quickly is necessary.
Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must demonstrate an ability to communicate clearly and effectively with customers.
Problem-Solving: Strong ability to handle inquiries and resolve issues in a professional, positive manner.
Detail-Oriented: Attention to detail with handling customer orders and inquiry.
Compensation:
$25-30/hour depending on experience — paid in cash
Hours may vary based on order flow. Approx 5-15 hours/week
